Every Veteran’s Day, we pause to honor the service and sacrifice of those who wore our nation’s uniform. At Yakima Neighborhood Health Services (YNHS), that gratitude is year-round-especially at Chuck Austin Place, where veterans and their families can access compassionate, comprehensive care in a welcoming setting.
What is Chuck Austin Place?
Chuck Austin Place is a veteran-focused housing and services campus located at the former U.S. Marine Corps Armory in Yakima. It was redeveloped by community partners to offer supportive housing with a hub for on-site services.
Care on Site from YNHS
YNHS provides medical, dental, and behavioral health services right at Chuck Austin Place—available to veterans and their immediate family members. Our care team works alongside partners on site so that access to care is closer to home.
Beyond health care, the site brings together resources that support veteran’s well-being-like care coordination, classes, and veteran services—veterans can access what they need in one place. The Chuck Austin Place includes outdoor gathering areas and community amenities to help residents recharge and connect.
Why it Matters
Transitioning from service can mean navigating complex health needs, housing challenges, and barriers to care. By bringing housing, health care, and support services together, the Chuck Austin Place reduces those barriers and helps veterans build stability.
This Veterans Day and everyday YNHS is proud to stand with those who served. Thank you for your services. We’re here for you.
