Unless Congress acts, government funding, including approximately $6 billion in funding for Community Health Centers (CHCs), will expire on September 30th. Clinics rely on these funds to provide care to over 34 million Americans across the country. Please TAKE ACTION to remind lawmakers that CHCs MUST be funded.
Nationwide, CHCs serve up to 1 in 7 Americans at over 17,000 locations each year. These patients include 10 million rural residents, more than 20 million individuals experiencing poverty, and more than 6 million uninsured people.
TAKE ACTION TODAY! Contact Congress and urge them to pass long-term, stable funding for CHCs, including:
- At least $5.8 billion annually for CHCs for two years
- $950 million annually for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC)
- $2.1 billion over five years for the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education (THCGME) program
This funding is critical to ensure that every CHC can keep its doors open to patients and continue to deliver comprehensive, affordable care that saves lives.
